Healing the Soul at Point Lobos

Multiple Sclerosis is a challenging and unpredictable disease. One week you may be able to get out of bed, transfer to the wheelchair, and take care of daily living activities – shower, dress, prepare meals – without too much stress.

And then you may be blindsided with an intense flare-up and need to spend some time in the hospital.

That’s exactly what happened to Carrieanna in April. An infection brought on a high fever that caused an M.S. exacerbation that sent her to the hospital for 16 days.

(That’s NOT where she wanted to spend her birthday but, unfortunately, that’s where she was on the day she turned 35.)

After antibiotics and steroids and extensive physical therapy helped her regain her mobility Carrieanna was finally released – YAY! Knowing she also needed to heal her psyche, she headed out to one of her favorite places, Point Lobos State Natural Reserve.

He didn’t give up – and neither does Carrieanna in spite of the struggles of living with Multiple Sclerosis.)

  1. I’m glad Carrieanna is back in the real world instead of that horrible hospital world. It certainly must help to have a place like this to go and realize what’s really important.

    • Yes, indeed!
And if you and Joe are ever in the Monterey Bay area, I’m sure she’d love to give you a personal tour of Point Lobos!

  2. Jeri’s wonderful photos from Point Lobos soothe the soul. The ocean at Point Lobos is as much a part of the healing process for Carrieanna as are her doctors.

  3. Thank you, Jeri, for your beautiful and soothing pictures. Point Lobos is, indeed, a perfect place for to calm one’s soul. I’m glad Carrieanna is home. Peace and Love to you both.
